I was not sure about this. I guess medicals are valid for 15months (if I am not wrong). But again, I just sent the medicals with new I-693 form with old results (like old wine in the new bottle :) ). Its just that the Doctor forgot to fill couple of check boxes, so I hope they accept it.

GE is not a person. All of GE employees as well as share holders pay taxes on their income. Why do you want to double tax the companies and make them go out of business? Thats one reason companies have to setup operations in tax haven countries.

According to my study , and talk with some lawyers .. Yes it could be same.
But if the Job description is same (not more than 50% different) , then u cannot use the experienced gained in the previous job with the same employer.
Eg .
You had 7 years of experience , and u worked as a software engineer (which required BS + 3 years of exp in c), and Ur company filed Ur GC in eb3.
Now u get promoted to Senior Software Engineer (which required BS + 6 years of exp in c),Now if u had 6 years of exp in c before joining this company in the previous job. you should be eligible to file in EB2 based on Ur previous work ex.
Talk to Ur attorney about the points i mentioned.

I am not entirely sure but there is a provision called "Follow to Join" that allows you to apply for spouse's 485, 6 months after your 485 is approved. The only condition you need to satisfy is that you should have married your spouse before your 485 approval date. Ask your lawyer about it. I think you should be fine. About legal status since your spouse's 485 is rejected and ur h1 is invaldiated due to your 485 approval, i dont know and you need to aks your lawyer about it.

Efficiency of NSC is real shame. I heard sometime back that NSC has huge backlog compared to TSC. That is why TSC cases are getting approved in 1-2months and at NSC average time is 5-6 months. I guess they are forcing people to convert to PP.

Yes, it is worth it if you're PD is current. I got my approval in less than 15 days and to think there even wan request for evidence. Everything was expedited. So am now filing my 485. But for those whose PD is not current, it does not make sense to pay extra for premium processing.

Congrads!! you seem to be lucky. I noticed that several other of our regular posters have PDs earlier than you and are still waiting. Why do you say 10 years? your PD is 04 so that makes it 5 years :D:D
I believe they go by RD if the PD is current. My RD is jul 2nd and my application reached them early AM on Jul 2nd.

I thought as per the new memo it is advisable to extend your non-immigrant status even if you have filed your AOS and work on EAD.
I know many people who were on H4 and started working as soon as they filed AOS and got EAD's, now in this case there I-94 issued for H4 is still valid.
When their spouse extended their H1B's, they did also extend the H4 petition to get new I-94's.
Like the attorney mentioned, you can't maintain H4 and AOS status at the same time. You can file for H1 to H4 COS but as soon as you use your EAD and start working, you will lose your H4 status. Having a valid H4 I-94 does not mean you still maintain H4 status. You can't work on H4, period. EAD gives you authorization to work based on your pending I-485, but then using your EAD will put you back in AOS pending/Parolee status. Hope this helps...

It depends what you want to use if you use H1B then till Jan 08 and if EAD then sep 08

Did anyone travel to India, by landing at Delhi Intl airport, and then proceeding to other destination city through a domestic airline?
Never been to Delhi, and I have no idea how Intl and domestic travel works in tandem...

Once while coming back from from Mumbai via Delhi, we did not have to change the flights, sat in the same flight to London.
And on other occasion where the connecting flight was Sahara to a Local Indian airport, we had to take our luggage and go to the Delhi domestic airport.
While in both cases, the Airline would arrange for the transport, Delhi has an inside route for passenger transfers(other vehicles are not allowed), while in bombay the bus goes thru the city, where the traffic is always severe.
In both the airports, if you are landing in the late morning (after 3-4am), you should follow up with the local airlines transport co-ordinator( bus driver ;)), to see what time is he gonna wake up and take you to the domestic airport.
Once when my inlaws were transferring from Bombay local to bombay international, they took a cab instead, as Jet airways did not have a bus ready to take the international passengers when they got out of the airport.

1. Invitation letter from the sponsor to the visitor visa applicant
2. Letter to consulate by the sponsor

Situation :
My 485, 765, 131 applications reached USCIS on Aug 17th.
Soon after that moved to a different apartment in the same city. Updated US Post office for redirection of my mails to the new address. However, the address in the USCIS has not been updated.
on Oct 10th got the checks cashed for 485, 765 and 131
The address was updated in USCIS only yesterday (Oct 24).
I haven't got the reciepts yet and need to visit India on Nov 4th.
My questions:
1. Not sure if USCIS has already sent the reciept notices to my previous address. If they were sent to previous address will they be redirected to the new address or they will be returned back to USCIS?
2. Some one mentioned that mails from USCIS will not be redirected but will be returned back to USCIS. Is this true?
3. Approx. how much time it takes to recieve the reciept notice once the checks are encashed? for me it is already 15days over and haven't recieved the reciept notice at my new address.
